We were up at the crack of dawn. It was a fantastic week making new friends and renewing old. I feel very lucky indeed to be a part of this Izu-shi Friendship Society.

The day was spent with Homestay families.

Then it was off to the farewell party
Friends re-unite! I love this!
Dear friends, our time together is coming to an end. Once again I thank everyone who helped put this together and the homestay families for hosting. Most importantly I thank you, our Japanese friends for coming to visit us.
We hope you have enjoyed your stay and that we have given you a taste of life in Nelson and in Canada.
For those of us who have done this before, we know that we have planted the seeds of friendship and we shall meet again. We hope the same for all of you.
So I do not say good-bye; I say see you later.
